TITLE: JoJo’s Ontological Misventure

AUTHOR(S): Sébastien Bovie

YEAR: 2022

DESCRIPTION: A small collection of scans from the manga JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure accompanied by an essay on the difficulty of expressing oneself and the inevitable consequence of connecting with the (O)ther. This subject has been addressed in a lot of literature and philosophy, so I juxtaposed it with a small excerpt from Kierkegaard. 200 years apart, yet still a more than ever relevant topic. By removing the images' action lines and text-filled speech bubbles, one is left with an alienated expression void of language. The result is purely emotional imagery as follow-up chapter to the essays.
